Okay, I’m being a bit facetious and that is not an actual headline. But if you have ever tried formatting a picture book for Createspace, you know that it can be a frustrating process. I used to spend hours and hours of swearing at my computer whenever I tried to get a picture book published on Createspace. For some reason, my books were always rejected on the most innocuous of errors that their review system always found.
So I printed off Createspace’s review guidelines for picture formatting—something that wasn’t easy to find—and I put them in this easy to follow book with a few tips and tricks of my own. This book was surely an eye opener for me. After already going through much frustration trying to format my book, and even trying to fit with the requested format to send someone on Fiverr I finally got to A. Olson's book and was so pleased to see how simple it was to get my photo images to bleed across the page. I honestly wish I had found this book a lot sooner. But in the time I found it, it surely saved me the extra time and headache I could have gone through. I am very grateful to have found this book. The only drawback why I didn't rate it a 5 star is that some things I had to read multiple times to understand fully, as it regards the sizes to choose. But after about three reads I got it and it helped save me a lot of time and frustration. Thank you so much A. Olson for writing this book and sharing with us.Product details

I gave this book 4 stars because, on my first try, I had only minor corrections needed. I believe my book would have needed no corrections at all if I had followed the requirement for image resolution given in the book. It was great to be told what gutter and trim dimensions were needed. It would have helped to know that once you begin the process, you almost can't leave it without completing all of the steps. You need to allow a lot of time for the process, and I'm not sure how you can enter the ISBNs in your book before going to CreateSpace and beginning the project. The author could have been clearer about software needed, by adding some "and"s and "or"s. I thought having Word and PaintNet would be enough, but it wasn't.

I appreciated the help I received from this how-to book. I needed straight forward help, and I got it. Worth the price if you're looking for a little formatting direction.
This book is very helpful. I haven't quite gotten the hang of creating my picture book yet, but I'd recommend this book to anyone who is trying to create one. The instructions are very clear and my clumsiness is not at all a product of the information this book provides.
Good information and presented well in a very straightforward way. It's also well laid out and easy to find what you are looking for. It does not include information on Kid's Book Creator, but explains formatting a children's book for Comic Book Creator. I'd love to see it updated.
Self-publishing a picture book can be really, really tedious, but I found this ebook to be extremely helpful. It might help to have some sort of a background in the programs being used, but nevertheless, this was a good buy.
You would think that CreatSpace would have information about formatting children's picture books but not so. I wasn't clear about some of what the author was talking about, like what are, "Full Bleeds." Also the book didn't mention Gimp which is a free & robust program like Photoshop but is absolutely free to download at gimp.org. I was amazed at the pictures in this book which are the best that I have seen in any digital book. The recommendations for programs to make a picture book were very helpful. I can hardly wait to try her advice on my own children's books.
